American Reunion (2012)
Directed by Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg
Starring Jason Biggs, Alyson Hannigan and Sean William Scott
Thirteen years have passed and it is time for the high school reunion. All of the gang from the first 2 films are back and trying to re-find their youth in one crazy weekend.
After a couple of people didn’t turn up in the 3rd film due to thinking they had found themselves better acting careers but they now realised that wasn’t the case and were probably running low on money everyone is back in some capacity and are all looking older apart from Jason Biggs. With all that aside everyone being back does give that nice retro feeling of the initial films – not these spin off films that had no original characters in.
There are quite a few laughs in the film with Stifler being the same old person he always has been and bringing in most of the laughs. Fill the film with cameos of ex characters and everyone leaves happy.
The film as a whole is on par with American Wedding but not as good as the first 2. If you are a fan of the American Pie films then I would recommend you watch this. As a reunion film it will make you feel like you are having your own little reunion with Jim, Michelle, Stifler and the rest.
Film Fact
At eight films, Eugene Levy has become the only actor to be in every film in the American Pie franchise.
Stay during the first part of the credits for a funny post credit scene involving Jim’s Dad.
